General Insurance System

SBC's General Insurance Management System ('GIMS') is a true enterprise web browser solution used for the management of Insurance Claims. SBC GIMS reduces the complexity and effort required for the management of claims through a unique user interface that minimises the number of keystrokes and screens required to manage a claim and to ensure that costs for claims are kept to a minimum.

SBC GIMS is a highly configurable workflow solution that can be implemented to meet the business practices of our customers.

Insurance Policies are recorded and managed including:

  • The Coverage Period
  • The details of the Insurers for the Policy including the ability to record multiple Insurers
  • Any limits of Liability
  • The detials of any Excess
  • Any specific Locations that are included on each Policy
  • The easy Renewal of a Policy

Events that lead to Claims are profiled, with a link to the SBC Incident and Hazard Management System, enabling the tracking of Claims per a specific Event. Events can be managed and tracked separately in GIMS.

SBC GIMS includes the ability to record over 15 different types of Claims, including:

  • Motor Vehicle Claims
  • Property Damage Claims
  • Public Liability Claims
  • Statutory Liability Claims
  • Professional Indemnity Claims
  • Worksite and Construction / Maintenance Claims

SBC GIMS Claims include the following key features:

  • The ability to use a Web Form to enter a Claim, which can be made availalbe to Employees or the general public
  • The ability to record Short Claim as a draft
  • Recording Liability Decision for the Claim
  • Linking an Event to a Claim
  • Linking of Claimants and other related Parties to a Claim
  • Recording of Payments and Settlements, including the tracking of under Excess Payments
  • Interface with Accounts Payable or Banking Systems for the processing of Payments
  • Recording of Injury Details, Property Damage Detials (both Owned and Third Party) and Motor Vehicle Detials
  • Interface with Asset and Fleet Management Systems
  • File and Document Management
  • Standard Reporting and Ad-Hoc Reporting
  • Workflow and Alerts
